Upsides always come with downsides

The park I used to play at when I was a little kid

The photo above was from the other evening I took my son out to the park I used to play at over 30 years ago😊 Now it is spring in Japan and the weather is getting slightly better and better, therefore I get to spend some time with my son outside even after dinner😋 I never thought I would be playing there with my son and it was a kinda wired feeling as well as heart-warming which brought back lots of memories🙂

The sunset from the park

My family and I were supposed to get back to Australia between this May and July, however we have been stuck in Japan because of the corona virus☹️ It is so frustrating and disappointing since nothing is going as well as we have planned😣 On the other hand, there are upsides of reality.

Since I currently do not work as many hours as I used to do in Australia, I have much more time to be able to spend with my family. I probably couldn’t have the same situation again in Australia, thus being able to be with my family is what I can do with this kind of situation.

Furthermore, I have been able to realise advantages of living in Japan as well as in Australia. Also disadvantage of living in both countries. If I had kept living in Australia, I wouldn’t have known those points.

When it comes to this whole virus thing, people tend to take things negatively which is quite normal. However if you step back to change perception, you will definitely be able to see things differently. Upsides always come with downsides, thus you will be able to find one if you feel the other.

Let us be the one☝️

Cherry blossoms in front of where I live

When looking at cherry blossoms from where I live like the photo above, I don’t mind staying home at all🤗

I am so happy with the fact some countries have eased restrictions so that they can get back on the right track, whereas others are still struggling to cope with the virus thing. Guys, nothing lasts forever so stay strong and hand in there as long as we should😉

Happy Mother’s Day 🌺

This year, the 10th of May is Mother’s Day in Japan as it is for some other countries🤗

Thank you so much to my mother for bringing me up😊

I am pretty sure that I wasn’t the easy one to bring up but she never gave up on me to keep going. I am sorry that I didn’t behave myself when I was a teenager. I wouldn’t be who I am without you.

Thank you so much to my wife for giving birth to our beautiful son and raising him so far🥰

She brought him up pretty much herself for the first 3 years which were the roughest and hardest ones because I was rarely home due to my work. Now I do realise how happy but also tough it is to be a parent. I wish I could take back those 3 years and make them up for you. Whatever it takes, I’ll try to be the best father and husband I can be💪

I just wanted to show my respect to all mothers out there who are doing their best for their children. You guys are fantastic👍👍

Just on the other side of where I live, full of cherry blossoms

How is everyone doing? I hope that everything is going well with you guys😊

Since there has still been a state of emergency in Japan, my family and I have been trying not to go out that often. One of the best things about living in where I live at the moment is that I can feel and see nature so often as seasons change.

View from where I live

You sometimes don’t need money to keep yourself happy because happiness is just there for you.

Cherry blossoms with a tower (one of the landmarks from where I live)

Close your eyes, take a deep fresh air and stay still for a few seconds. Life isn’t too bad all🤗

A kind of cherry blossom street

Be grateful for what you have and stop whinging about what you don’t have. Let’s enjoy the moment, shall we??🥰

About my dog 🐶

How are you all? I hope that you guys are enjoying the weekend😊 Since the weather yesterday was nice and warm, I took my son for a walk and bumped into some people with dogs which reminded me of my dog in Australia😭Unfortunately, he is not with me in Japan at the moment since he’s had to stay in Austria😔Luckily, I have got somebody who has been looking after him since I left Australia. His name is “Mr. N” ( my wife named him) and he is toy poodle. He is 2 and half years old and really loves my wife and son. However, he HATES ME because I always tell him off every time he does something naughty🤣 It came up on my mind that what was Toy Poodle’s personality and how about my dog’s?? Every time he barks at me, I can’t stop thinking that poodle is supposed to be the second smartest dog in general, is he?? Anyway, I wanted to bring up some of toy poodle’s personality and compare them with my dog’s;

  • In general: Really intelligent
  • Mr. N: Irritatingly clever

It is said that toy poodle is so smart and can instantly understand what is going on. What about Mr. N?? Umm.. Once there is something he doesn’t like such as when he gets told off by me, he has a pee or pooh right in front of his potty pad, not on it😤 At the beginning, I assumed that he couldn’t hold it but started to realise that he did it deliberately🤔

Photo by Leah Kelley from Pexels
  • In general: Be loyal to their owners
  • Mr. N: Be loyal only to my wife and son

Loyalty is one of dog’s traits and Mr. N certainly has one only to particular people, except me. If a stranger walks up to my wife to ask for directions, he barks till that person goes away. He thinks that he is protecting her. As soon as I open the door when coming home from work, he starts barking and doesn’t stop even after he sees my face😤

Photo by Immortal Shots from Pexels
  • In general: Active and playful
  • Mr. N: Playful but won’t last long

Whereas toy poodle is energetic and enjoys playing outside, mine is very unique🤭 He does like going for a walk but he lies down on the street and shows me that he doesn’t want to walk anymore once he is tired 😓 He doesn’t want to play that much during summer and winter because it is too hot or cold. He is willing to play only during spring and fall. I don’t think he is toy poodle from time to time😭

Photo by Goochie Poochie Grooming from Pexels

Generally speaking, the same breeds even have different personalities, having said that Mr. N is so distinctive😂 I haven’t seen him for a year but I know that he has been doing well. I cannot wait to get annoyed by him again🤣🤣

What I began to do these days

How is everyone doing? Let’s say that we are doing great💪🤙✌️ On this blog, I wanted to share what I recently started to do ( or change) to improve the quality of my life🙂 Here we go;

Photo by Alexas Fotos from Pexels
  • Waking up earlier

I used to whinge that I didn’t have time and realised I may not do what I need even if I did have time. I thought saying “I don’t have time” would be a decent excuse. The answer was “NO”. Then, I have come to the conclusion that I can always make time as I mentioned on my previous blog. I have decided to wake up 2 hours earlier than before (7am→5am). I have no more excuses🤣

Photo by Acharaporn Kamornboonyarush from Pexels
  • Studying

The last time that I studied was back in 2010 when I was studying Diploma of hospitality in Australia. It has been 10 years since then. From my point of view, human beings are meant to stop growing unless they learn. Staying at the same level is going backwards. That’s why I decided to study. Study to learn what I never knew before. I have a son, I work but I want to study. Then, I have decided to study in the morning as soon as I wake up. I recommend that you study what you used to avoid before because that could change your whole life. You are not satisfied with your present because there are things you haven’t done or you have avoided. I started to study what I used to hate before😅 Will see how I go😊

  • Reading books

This is also what I used to avoid before😅 I assume that reading a book gives you new opinions and another way of how you think. It also calms you down, therefore it feels like that it takes you somewhere you’ve never been to. You may as well obtain new ideas and broaden your knowledge. I am not good at reading books to be honest, thus it takes longer to read, comparing to how quickly others can read. But I’ll try my best to keep going📖

There are few more things that I would like to start, however I’ll wait till I see how I go with what I have already began to do😌 Guys, is there anything that you started to do these days? Please tell me about it😁

If you like this post, please follow my blog and share it 😉

Is this real??

How are we doing these days? We are doing fantastic, aren’t we? I just wanted to share what I have read recently with you guys.

The article above is the one I wanted to share first. 60,000 people are expected to travel during the upcoming holiday week?? Am I dreaming or what? I couldn’t even say a word when I read the article. I would like to know how many Japanese would understand the meaning of “ a state of emergency”. Moreover, how many of them would actually understand the meaning of “death”. And remind you that your reckless behaviour could kill so many people. I was away from Japan for such a long time, therefore I didn’t realise that. However, it is needless to say that as a country, as a whole nation and as the way everything is, Japan has changed so much for worse at least in the last decade. It could be because of the education that has been provided, the way the government has been leading the county or just without any reasons. This is so embarrassing and a shame. This is also the proof that a state of emergency which the Japan government has declared hasn’t worked and been absolutely useless. I am so devastated and furious about this whole thing.

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio from Pexels

Here is another one that has aggravated my anger. Would you like to gamble if you had to sit next to somebody who might have the deadly virus? Would you be happy even if you walked out with not only money but also the virus?

Photo by Alexander Mils from Pexels

I am so ashamed to say that I am Japanese at the moment. Why don’t you look around whereas there are good examples, such as New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan. I want to say it not only to the Japan government but also to every single one of Japanese. We shouldn’t be using the word of “travel” or “gamble” right now. Over 200,000 have died of the virus so far in the world. By tomorrow, I could be dead, you could be dead and thousands could be dead. Please rethink what you are about to do, think twice even a few times.

You don’t have to hit “the like button” this time but I would appreciate if you could share and spread this to as many. I will be back with a brighter topic next time, I promise you👍

Thank you for reading, see ya👋👋

The food you need to consume during this uncertain time

How are you guys doing? I hope that you guys stay positive and enjoy the weekend😊 I would like to give you some advice on the food that could boost your immunity so that you can fight back against any types of virus💪💪

Photo by Trang Doan from Pexels

Firstly, Vitamin D is the one you have to take in order to improve your immune system as some of you may know. It is said that having at least 600IU (IU= International Unit) of vitamin D daily is essential. So, let’s see what kind of food you should have;

  • Salomon and tuna

There are apparently almost 455IU in 100g of salmon and 160IU in the same portion of tuna. They both have got so much in omega 3 as well, thus having those fish definitely keeps you healthy.

  • Milk

It depends on what kind of milk you drink, however it is said that 500ml of milk contain approximately 250IU of vitamin D. It has also got calcium, thus drinking milk regularly is like “you kill two birds with one stone.”

  • Yogurt

This also depends on what sort of yogurt you have but 200g of yogurt generally contain 95-100IU of vitamin D. It also helps your intestines work better and healthier.

Photo by Vlad Chețan from Pexels
  • Beef liver

I understand that many of you would hate this because I am one of those who dislike this. Nevertheless, I must admit that this is really good for your health since 100g of beef liver contain approximately 45IU of vitamin D alongside with vitamin A and B12. There are some other options you can choose from, so I wouldn’t say that you should try it😂

Photo by Miguel Á. Padriñán from Pexels
  • Orange juice

I think this is what you can easily imagine when it comes to vitamin D. You can take approximately 140IU of vitamin D as well as vitamin C from 250ml of orange juice.

Photo by Bruno Scramgnon from Pexels
  • Eggs

Especially egg yolks have got so much vitamin D. An egg with L size has got around 41IU of vitamin D. Having said that, eggs also have some cholesterols so allow yourself 1-2 eggs a day just in case.

There are some other types of food you are able to have to keep you healthy, such as almonds, mushrooms and sardines. You can have bits and pieces day by day to get you going. “ You are what you eat.” Healthier you, brighter future🤩

How to renew your mindset

How are things going, everyone? I am doing good day by day💪 Since everyone has got at least a bit of more time at home than before, I assume that some people spend a lot of time thinking about the future. And I am one of them😅

I recently thought about what I could do to improve my life as well as to sustain my family no matter what happens, things like this virus thing. Nothing is stable and to survive in this hectic world, I have come to the conclusion that changing myself as well as my mind would be the best way to achieve these. How?? Here are what I have come up with;

  • Make time even if you don’t have it.

Time is the only thing that is provided for every single one of us equally. A day is 24 hrs for you, me and everyone else. If you whinge about the fact that you don’t have time, make it. Go to sleep later or wake up earlier! See? You can make time! A wise man said “you can rest when you are dead.” Of course, you need to get rest from time to time, however what that means you keep going with whatever you have decided to do and stick to it without any excuses. If you have time to complain about something, you are better off doing something else.

Photo by Samuel Silitonga from Pexels
  • Invest for yourself and keep learning something all the time.

I am not saying that you have to invest your money into a share or property. You can do these if you would like. What I am saying is that you allocate time for something you would like to learn or enhance so that you can obtain skills or knowledge for the future. Money can be taken as well as your time but what you have learnt such as skills and knowledge can never be taken away.

  • Ask yourself why.

This is something that is really important to me, nevertheless i haven’t been able to achieve this yet. Everything happens for a reason, even a tiny little thing. You ask yourself why that has happened and think deeply and more deeply till you find a reason. It doesn’t matter whether it is correct or not but what matters is that you can transform yourself when thinking has become your habit. In this case, a result is not that important but the process really matters. Since I haven’t been able to make this happen, I shouldn’t say this proudly. It’s gonna take some time but I’m gonna make this come true.

I have no doubt that what I have written above will definitely renew your mind and transform you for better. I understand that it is so hard to carry them out, however everything will be paid off at the end of the day.

Keep your child smile 😊

How are you all? I hope that you guys are rocking during this tough time👍

The other day, I thought to myself that many people have been trying not to go out since there has been a state of emergency among a lot of countries. Some countries restrict children to going to childcares or school.

Then, I realised that not being able to go to school as well as go out means children do not have time interacting with their friends. Which could also mean that they wouldn’t smile or laugh at home as often as at school or be with their mates.

What can we do to prevent this from happening? Cut the long story short, how can parents keep their children smile and laugh as much as possible? I understand myself as a father of 1, parents have to do so many other things, apart from looking after their children, thus it is not easy to give 100% of what they have. But there are certainly things they can do to keep their children happy.

Photo by Gustavo Fring from Pexels

First of all, what does laughter bring to you? It basically relieves your stress. You just laugh and some of your stress will be gone. It also stimulates your brain so that it works better. For me, the most important fact is that laughter brings you positive energy😁 You don’t smile because things are not looking good. I don’t think this is true. Things are not looking good because you are not smiling. When you are not smiling, of course nothing is looking good😅

Photo by Aleksandr Balandin from Pexels

From my experiences, there are a few things we can try to give our children good laughter and smile. Those may not work for all children but certainly are worth trying:

  • No matter how busy you are, pay attention to your kids or at least make eye contact with them.

I understand that there are things you gotta do but when they need you or call you, at least look them in the eye so that you can show them that you care for them. In my case, when my son calls me even if I am busy, I look him in the eye and even make a funny face till he laughs. It really works🤩

  • Be a child at heart

This is something that my son loves me about, however also what my wife hates me about🤣 I have to admit that I am still a kid at heart for good but childish for bad😅 I can still play as if I was a little kid🤗 I sometimes think as if I was a little kid🤗 That’s when my wife comes up to me and gives me a hard time🤣 Anyway, being a kid at heart and show it to your children. They will love you more😉

Photo by Dominika Roseclay from Pexels
  • Show affection

This is what I would like to let Asians know. For Asians, we are not big on showing affection, comparing to other countries. We are actually getting better than before since there are so many Asians who go overseas and learn different cultures. Luckily I lived in Australia for a long time, therefore I don’t mind showing my son affection no matter where we are🤭 He’s gonna hate it once he gets older, so I need to enjoy doing it as long as time allows me to do so 😊 It wouldn’t take that much time till he has a big smile once I show him affection, really works🥰

Photo by Gustavo Fring from Pexels

As I have mentioned above, it wouldn’t take much time or effort to keep your children smile. The most importantly, you should never put it off even if you are extremely busy. At that time, with that facial expression, with that voice and with that atmosphere.. exactly the same thing never comes to you. That’s why you need to pay even a bit of attention to your children even if you can’t be bothered to do so. Children always need their parents whenever and wherever😌
